FanFood:
Hitting a home run
by reinventing
food delivery for
more stadium fans
In a byte
FanFood delivered stadium grub to fans' seats, but its legacy architecture limited service to small crowds. FanFood approached us to design a scalable mobile ordering platform that would supercharge its expansion plans.
What we did
By arming FanFood with the elasticity of AWS and an end-to-end cloud solution, it is now equipped to process 2,200% more volume and 10x more orders, while saving $100,000 in operating expenses.

Growing pains.
A varsity baseball stadium seats 10,000 hungry fans; an MLB stadium seats 50,000. Fanfood entered the online food delivery space by connecting varsity fans and stadium food stands, allowing spectators to order grub directly to their seats or a pick-up window.
While its digital infrastructure worked for modest varsity games, the platform suffered in FanFood’s attempt to scale to the big leagues. Poor quality of code, written in an archaic language, and bad architectural decisions ruined game day experiences. If Fanfood wanted to scale up, it needed to start anew and rebuild.
Building a new game plan, together.
Our team used a greenfield approach to redesign a platform that assisted FanFood in achieving seamless, consistent growth. We developed an economical, end-to-end cloud solution using AWS that targeted FanFood's primary goal: game day scalability.
AWS has a massive infrastructure capable of handling the vagaries of traffic, which is vital to the long-term success of an online platform. It enables FanFood to set up high-performance serverless architecture and deploy its applications in multiple regions with ease, efficiency, and agility.
A platform built to scale.
With our end-to-end cloud solution, FanFood can now process 10x more orders on the back-end, while saving $100,000 in operating expenses through AWS. Our platform helped FanFood elevate the delivery experience for 2,200% more fans by incorporating:
Native-hybrid mobile applications to enhance customer experience using a single code base structure and deployed on both iOS and Android platforms
Fully automated CI/CD pipelines for services on AWS Cloud.
Software infrastructure on serverless architecture to support scalability.
Point of Sale (PoS) system along with venue and store management systems.
PCI compliant payment methods - Credit Cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay
Ownership of all operations by engineering cloud-based databases give more power to FanFood.
By integrating the above solutions into a redesigned, modern platform, we equipped FanFood to hit a home-run in the food delivery game and scale out of the park, seamlessly.
